For many people, a partial denture is a highly effective method for replacing the function and presence of multiple missing teeth. This miniature version of complete dentures is set into a pink material that mimics the natural appearance of your gums. Many partial dentures are created with interlocking wires that secure their location with the neighboring teeth.

At the same time, many people with a partial denture will also apply a small bead of denture adhesive. This helps to lock the dental appliance in place while helping to block out small food particles from invading the base of the unit.

You should take your partial denture out each night before performing your evening oral hygiene routine. The partial denture will need a thorough rinsing to clear away residual denture adhesive and provide a smooth surface to apply a fresh bead in the morning.

You can then brush your partial with a soft-bristled toothbrush and a nonabrasive toothpaste like denture polish. Then store your partial denture overnight by soaking it in water and storing it in a safe place.

You should then follow through with the rest of your daily oral hygiene routine of brushing and flossing. This is important for maintaining good oral health and a comfortable fit for your partial denture.
